Cailíno is an Irish music publisher whose aim is to promote Irish choral music nationally and internationally. Cailíno’s catalogue features many of Ireland’s finest composers and arrangers and includes a broad range of genres and styles suitable for school, community, church and professional groups.
To showcase the exemplary quality of Irish choral music, to ensure that it becomes recognised the world over as music of the highest calibre, and to promote and publish this music through state-of-the-art online resources.
Cailíno Music Publishers was founded in 2017 by Niall Crowley and Brendan Long and is based in Waterford, Ireland. Sharing a passion for music, in particular contemporary Irish choral music, Brendan and Niall created the company to fully reveal the rich vein of talented Irish composers working at home and abroad.
The name CAILÍNO derives from the old Irish folk-song Cailín ó Chois tSiúire mé or I am the girl from the banks of the Suir. Written in medieval times, and thought to be one of the first pieces of Irish origin to be written down in musical form, the song’s popularity saw it travel from Ireland and enjoy great acclaim abroad.
In much the same way, Cailíno will enable contemporary Irish music to reach further and wider than ever before.
