Plaintive and heart-warming, Scanlon’s piece features beautiful melodic lines with touches of modality reminding the listener of its Irish origins. The piece is structured very cleverly with the repeated verses of the choir given additional colour by two soloists. The piece ends with a sensitive Coda section providing an ending which exudes of warmth and grace. Beautiful!
